CPL Week 6: Cavalry FC Face First Defeat of the Season

CALGARY, AL. June 23 – Cavalry FC has tasted defeat for the first time this season in the sixth game week of the 2019/2020 Canadian Premier League season.

On an unbeaten run in league play, Cavalry went into their Saturday tilt against Forge needing just one single point to wrap up their Spring campaign and book a spot in the 2019 CPL Championship. But as they found out, Forge had other plans and ended up surprising the best team in the league – at Spruce Meadows no less! A lone goal early from Bekker in the first 5 minutes of the game was enough to have the visiting team hold down the fort and hold out for a decisive victory.
