MISSISSAUGA, Ontario. April 20 (T90) – The Canadian Soccer League (CSL) has added a brand new team for the upcoming season.
Royal Toronto FC will be the latest expansion team to be making its CSL 2017 debut.
As the same case with the previous new addition, FC Vorkuta, the CSL has yet to release an official press release on the addition. It is very likely the league is waiting near the start of the season to announce the news along with the 2017 schedule.
Royal Toronto FC, a Croatian ethnic club, will be expectant to replace CSL legacy club Toronto Croatia. The new team will most certainly play out their home games at the Centennial Park Stadium in Etobicoke, in the west end of the city of Toronto.
The new team will field teams in both the CSL First and Second Division for its debut season and be the eighth side to compete in the league this season.
As it currently stands, Milton SC, Scarborough SC, SC Waterloo, Serbian White Eagles FC, Brantford Galaxy SC, FC Vorkuta, York Region Shooters and Royal Toronto FC will the teams competing in the 2017 CSL First Division.
The 2017 CSL season will be kicking off next month in May.
