Piatkiewicz Takes Coaching Reins at Windsor TFC

WINDSOR, Ontario. April 20 (T90) – Zibby Piatkiewicz has become the new head coach of Windsor TFC.

The Polish-Canadian has replaced previous coach Steve Vagnini, who has been at the club since 2012.

With a total rebranding over in the off-season, with the merger with Toronto FC, the Windsor Stars changed their badge and name to Windsor TFC. Along with that, a fresh change in the coaching department was also deemed necessary.

Piatkiewicz comes to Windsor TFC after being part of head coach Steve Hart’s staff at the Windsor Lancers university team.

“Zibby’s commitment and qualifications are a tremendous fit for our program,” Windsor TFC owner  Vancho Cirovski told the official club website.

“We look forward to a long term relationship and success with his guidance.”

A native of Leczyca, Poland, the former Lancers assistant coach is now gearing up for his first season as head coach where he will bring a wealth of local soccer knowledge. In addition to his coaching duties in Windsor, Piatkiewicz has been both the director and player of the local Polonia White Eagles club. He also holds a National B Coaching license from Canada Soccer.

Windsor TFC’s home opener is April 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Windsor’s Alumni Field.
