TORONTO, Ontario. December 20 (T90) – Toronto FC have announced that the club has re-branded its Senior Academy that currently competes in the League1 Ontario to Toronto FC III.

The newly re-branded team will be coached by Danny Dichio who is currently in his sixth season with the Kia Toronto FC Academy.

“With TFC III we will expand the level of competition for our academy athletes in preparation for our USL team TFC II,” Toronto FC General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko told torontofc.com.

“Our commitment to providing world class competitions will also give them an opportunity to grow their game on a number of levels, emulating the progression model shared by many of the top clubs from around the world.”

Dichio last spent coaching the Kia Toronto FC Academy Pod 1 team which competed in the Ontario Soccer U-21 League (OSL). After completing his necessary coaching requirements he will now coach TFC’s team in League1 Ontario.
