TORONTO, Ontario. December 5 (T90) – FC Vorkuta is likely to become a new expansion franchise in the CSL for 2017.
The Russian ethnic Canadian club announced the news of its addition to the Canadian Semi-Pro league this week on its official web page.
Vorkuta’s online announcements states how proud the club is to join such a prominent league in Canadian soccer as well the adversities they have faced throughout the years of operation.
For the last few years FC Vorkuta played its outdoor soccer in the Richmond Hill Soccer Club league and were crowned league title winners in 2014.
While nothing is yet official, the chance of Vorkuta becoming the latest member of the league is quite high.
The league is very interested in expanding for the new year and currently list the club on the website header bar. In previous years the CSL would list a new expansion club on its website header bar before officially unveiling them later on.
With that said, the CSL has still yet to issue a statement on the expansion club joining but it is likely they are waiting until the new year to make it.
